Garage Door Before & After in Palmdale, CA

We’ve repaired and replaced garage doors across Palmdale since 2015, and we’ve photographed every job before we touched it and after we finished. The photo record isn’t a marketing idea. It’s Clause 4 of The Haven Standard, and it exists so you can see the failed part, the replacement, and the finished result with your own eyes. Below are representative jobs from our service area. Actual project photos drop into the placeholders as our team works through the Antelope Valley.

Torsion Spring Replacement in Rancho Vista

Garage door torsion spring before and after replacement in Rancho Vista, Palmdale
Torsion spring replacement: broken coil on the left, new spring installed and balanced on the right.

What we found: a torsion spring snapped clean at the coil, leaving the door’s full weight on the opener. The spring measured 0.25-inch wire diameter with the break right at the winding cone. We replaced both springs as a matched pair, since the second spring had run the same number of cycles as the first. The door now lifts balanced and quiet, and the opener isn’t fighting dead weight anymore. In Rancho Vista, where doors cycle through heat expansion most summer afternoons, paired replacement is the standard we recommend, not an upsell.

Roller and Hinge Rebuild in East Palmdale

Garage door rollers and hinges before and after replacement in East Palmdale
Roller and hinge rebuild: flattened nylon rollers and bent hinges on the left, new rollers and hinges on the right.

What we found: four nylon rollers worn flat on one side, a center hinge bent, and metal shavings collecting on the track. The door would run about halfway up, then jerk and bind. We pulled the old rollers, straightened the track, replaced all ten rollers and the bent hinge, then reset the limit switch on the opener. The result is a door that runs smooth enough you hear the opener motor, not the door. Hinges that bind are the start of most roller failures we see in east Palmdale, where sand grit works into the track during wind season.

Logic Board Replacement in Ana Verde

Garage door opener logic board before and after replacement in Ana Verde, Palmdale
Logic board replacement: fried circuit board on the left, new board installed and programmed on the right.

What we found: the opener would click but not run, and the wall button blinked a code that pointed to the logic board. We pulled the cover and found visible heat damage on the board, with the main relay scorched. We replaced the board, reprogrammed the travel limits and remote codes, and ran a full safety reversal test on the way out. The opener now responds on the first button press, every time. Lightning and power surges during Palmdale’s summer monsoons are the usual cause of dead logic boards we see in Ana Verde.

Full Door Replacement in West Palmdale

Garage door full replacement before and after in West Palmdale
Full door replacement: dented and rusted door from 2004 on the left, new insulated steel door on the right.

What we found: a 2004 Raised Panel steel door with one panel dented beyond repair, rust along the bottom seal, and a track that had been out of square for years. The homeowner wanted insulation and a quieter door, not another patch job. We removed the old door and track, installed a new heavy-gauge steel door with a fresh track, new torsion springs matched to the door’s exact weight, and a new bottom seal. The result is a door that closes flush, insulates the garage, and runs quieter than anything that house has had. On West Palmdale homes with west-facing garage doors, the afternoon heat load is real, and the insulated panel makes a measurable difference inside the garage.

Extension Spring and Cable Repair in Lake Palmdale

Garage door extension spring and cable before and after repair in Lake Palmdale
Extension spring and cable repair: frayed cable and stretched spring on the left, new cable and spring on the right.

What we found: one extension spring stretched longer than the other, and the cable on that side was fraying at the hook. The door was lifting crooked, and the cable was close to releasing under load. We replaced both extension springs to equal length and installed new cables on both sides, then reset the door balance and travel. The door now lifts level and the cable doesn’t rub the track anymore. Extension spring systems are more common on Lake Palmdale homes built in the 1970s and 80s, and they need more frequent cable checks than torsion systems do.

Opener Upgrade with Keypad in Desert View Highlands

Garage door opener upgrade with keypad before and after in Desert View Highlands, Palmdale
Opener upgrade: chain drive opener from 2008 on the left, new belt drive opener with keypad on the right.

What we found: a chain drive opener from 2008 that worked but rattled the house and lacked a working keypad. The homeowner wanted a quieter opener and an easy way for a teenager to get in without a remote. We installed a belt drive opener, mounted a wireless keypad outside, programmed the remotes in both cars, and ran the full battery of safety tests. The result is an opener you can’t hear from inside the house. Belt drives are the standard recommendation we make in Desert View Highlands, where garages open into living space more often than not.
